Deborah Jackson

Registered Psychologist & Trauma Therapist

Do you do sessions via Skype?

Yes.  I regularly hold sessions via Skype, Facetime and Zoom.

(Unfortuntely, it’s not possible to claim a Medicare rebate in Australia for Skype sessions unless you qualify for Telehealth as a rural or remote client.)

How much do sessions cost?

Your trauma informed therapy session will cost $180 for the hour we spend together.

Note – The Australian Psychological Society recommends a fee of $251 for a 45-60 min session.

Can I access a Medicare rebate?

Clients seeing me locally on the Gold Coast with a referral from a GP for a Mental Health Care Plan may qualify for a rebate of $84.80 per session, for up to 10 sessions per calendar year.

Can I claim a rebate on my private health?

Yes. If you are covered for Psychology in your extras, you can claim a rebate from your health fund (if you are seeing me via Skype or outside of Australia, check the conditions with your fund).

Can you process my rebate on the spot?

Yes.  I have a HICAPS terminal that lets me process your health fund or Medicare rebate on the spot, as long as all documentation is in order.

Do you see clients under Workcover?

Yes, I see clients from Workcover QLD and NSW.  We’ll talk first about the particulars of your case.

Are you taking on new clients?

Yes, I currently have some limited availability for new clients.  This can change according to workflow.

Where are you located?

I’m at Elanora, on the southern end of the beautiful Gold Coast.  Perfect spot for a beach break to integrate after a session.
